Alpha boasts seven varities of butyl tape: Non-Trimmable tape, two versions of Trimmable Tape, Alphabond PSA Tape, Mylar Tape, Alphafleece PSA tape, and a Metal Building Grade Tape. Alpha butyl tapes are available in a wide variety of dimensions, with thicknesses ranging from 1/32" to 3/8", and widths ranging from 3/8" to 4". All tapes are available in black and white. ALPHABOND and ALPHAFLEECE are stocked in 2" and 3" widths. ALPHABOND is available with a black or white facer.

  • Q130 Non-trimmable Butyl Tape – Strong and pliable, Q130 is our workhorse product in the RV market. Ideal for use as a gasket under trim and rail pieces on RVs.

  • Q180 Trimmable Butyl Tape – A hybrid product, Q180 offers some of the same properties as Q130 but can also be easily trimmed with a plastic knife. Ideal for use as a gasket under door frames, window frames, and other fixtures.

  • QTDG/QTW Tape – As traditional trimmable tapes, these products feature a putty-like consistency and are extremely tacky. They too are used under roofing and siding fixtures.

  • ALPHABOND PSA Tape – These specialty PSA tapes feature a UV resistant TPO facer and a state-of-the-art proprietary adhesive. Ideal for flashing applications.

  • Q202/Q299 Mylar Tape – Featuring a 2 mil PET facer and premium butyl adhesive, Alpha's mylar-backed tapes are designed to weatherproof and reinforce sidewall and endwall applications on RVs and trailers. The Q202 series features a salvage edge, while Q299 has a flush "no-edge" finish between facer and adhesive.

  • ALPHAFLEECE PSA Tape – Featuring a high performance hot melt adhesive and fleece facer, this multifunctional tape is compatible with liquid adhesives and coatings. Also suitable for seam, endcap, and joint coverings.

  • Q131 Metal Building Grade Tape – Q131 is a premium, high tensile tape that meets all specifications for use in the metal building industry. It is also often the product of choice for weatherproofing applications in the cargo trailer market.

Question: Does this product contain any VOCs?

Answer: No, all Alpha butyl tapes have a 100% solid content and contain zero VOCs.

Question: What sizes are available?

Answer: Alpha stocks around 20 different tape sizes, ranging from 1/32”- 3/8” in thickness, and 3/8” to 4” in width. Additional sizes may be available upon request.

Question: What colors are available?

Answer: White, black and gray are the colors of butyl tape currently offered.

Question: Will this tape work for my industry and/or application?

Answer: Most likely! Alpha offers tapes specifically formulated for use in RV, HVAC, marine, automotive, concrete, and metal building applications.

Question: Does Alphabond require a primer?

Answer: Alphabond, our specially formulated roofing repair tape, does not require a primer. However, surfaces should be clean, dry and free of greases and oils in order to ensure optimum performance.

Question: Why purchase butyl tape?

Answer: Compared to other gasketing materials, butyl tape holds several critical advantages. Most notably, it is cleaner, safer and easier to work with than solvated products. Compared to open and closed cell foam tapes, butyls have a long track record of superior durability and typically at a lower price. In both field and laboratory settings butyl tapes have proven to withstand the elements longer and more effectively than their foam and solvated counterparts.
